Did you install the drivers? Does the USB port work with other hardware? Be more specific on what gamepad it is also. You just need to use one of the controller. 12 fire buttons, clear & slow special function. Computable with windows 98/2000/ME/XP/NT/VISTA.

You need to install the USB Vibration driver should have been on a cd inside the package.

it installs into a directory called
    c:\windows\USB Vibration\7906\

I have a Thrustmaster firestorm 2 controller for PC. It's recognized in my OS, windows vista 64 ultimate, and it works fine. i used two different Brands(chinese) of Gamepad, which worked really well on one single Driver Installation.

You may also prefer Logitech kind gamepad, which is good in quality an branded as well and you would get them in the black market which cost less than 1k. otherwise you may try this "Start->Control Panel->Printer & Other Hardware->GAme controllers-> slect USB Vibration JoyStick->Properties->Vibration Test "TAB".
