Announced on 19 November, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 has landed on many platforms ranging from small to more conventional DS Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 via the PSP and Wii. A PC version is also planned and this is it, rather mysterious until now, it is today.
Codemasters wants to tell us that this version of its PC racing game will be one of the first titles to exploit the specificities of DirectX 11. We must know that unlike the console versions due in September 2009, DiRT 2 on PC should not be available before December ... ie; after the release of Windows 7 (October 22), DirectX 11 (integrated in the new OS) and the first graphics cards the operator.
If Codemasters is not stingy with superlatives and technical terms to describe this version DirectX 11 game, the English publisher does not denies to send us screenshots yet. While waiting for better, therefore we gargle with phrases such as hardware acceleration, multi-threading and Shader Model 5.0 ... Expressions that should be able to check the influence on the various reports or animation of the crowd.
