Xbox live IP address failed ?

Hello guys,

I'm using wireless connection to setup 360 live. But continuously getting the error about ip address failed. tried everything that i could . Please help me with this problem. How can i fix it? The connection is working fine when i connects it with my PC. Thanks in advamce for any help.

You cannot connect to Xbox LIVE. When you perform the network test on the "Network status" screen, you receive an error message that states that the IP address has failed. You receive the following error message:

IP Failed

This error message indicates that one of the following conditions is true:

• The IP address could not be obtained from your Internet service provider (ISP), from a network device (for example, from an Internet router), or from the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
• The IP values that you entered manually in the Dashboard are incorrect.

Note In rare cases, an “IP Failed” error can be generated by a faulty Ethernet cable. If standard troubleshooting steps (for all scenarios below) have been exhausted, try a different Ethernet cable that is "known to be good" if possible.

Try the Trouble Steps

Follow the following steps:

• Open up your internet browser
• Go to http://192.168.1.1
• Enter the Livebox username and password. The username and Password should be : admin.
• Click on Security/Wireless Configuration and Note down the WEP Security Key (26 Characters)
• Go to your Xbox 360 dashboard
• Select the System Blade/Network settings and then edit settings
• Scroll down twice to the wireless section and press "A"
• Your Livebox network name should appear, select the network by pressing A
• It will then ask you for the WEP Key, enter the 26 Character key you noted down earlier in CAPS no spaces.
• Press the button in your livebox marked with a number 1.
• Now press done on you Xbox 360

Your connection to Xbox live should now work

Unplug everything your wireless adapter, Xbox, pc , modem and wireless router. Wait for 30 Seconds, plug everything back in, in this order:

1. Modem
2. Router
3. Adapter
4. Computer & Xbox

Now run the ipconfig command in your pc , if its gives you list of ip address and all other details. Confirm the connection with internet browser and enjoy connection on your Xbox 360.
