    Splinter Cell Conviction Preview

Splinter Cell Conviction is ready to face the world.

Forget that Ubisoft had revealed in 2007, Splinter Cell 5 has nothing to do. It even has nothing to do with the rest of the series. Still devastated by the loss of his daughter, Sam Fisher finally left Step 3 to begin a quest for personal vengeance and unbridled. So, forget the limits imposed by the former bosses, caution not to arouse suspicion in order not to create diplomatic disputes, it is no longer your problem. Today, Sam wants answers and he will take as it takes.

However, infiltration has not given way to action. But today there is no need to hide the body or to wait in the shade with a patrol should move on. In command of a Sam Fisher although older who has never been so nimble and quick, the player has the usual movements of the series but in a boost, where every movement is dictated by the readiness and tripes hero. Becoming amid civilians, Fisher quickly slips into the shadows to reach into a building he must infiltrate in order to obtain information about her daughter, this is where we begin to discover new skills special. It starts with one called Mark & Execute. To take advantage of the player would first carry out a neutralization with corporal then, it will be possible to mark targets, in accordance with different weapon (a knife, two pistol silencers, 3 the shotgun etc.). It will also mark enemies as objects. First example, Sam uses a piece of mirror to find what awaits behind the door. It will then mark the light source and a first enemy. Remains to run the web to see Saturday kick the door, pull the lamp and kill the first opponent. The player can then take advantage of the darkness and confusion to deal with one remaining.

A little later, there is a more subtle yet. Within the building, Fisher, climbing on a pipe, towards the ceiling. Below, 3 guards are under a chandelier. Then impossible to make a Mark & Execute. One solution is to pull the chandelier down the guards below. The sound will then come from other guards, simply drop on the first and make a human shield and then be able to mark the other guards. Because the trick is that if the execution is not possible without combat action in advance, marking the east. The minutes of this game is quite spectacular and give rise to clashes particularly fast. A kind of mix between Dark Knight Batman and Jason Bourne. And if at first you might think that this too facilitates the task of the player, it should be kept in mind that the environments are relatively open, some planning is still needed and more importantly, it was quite possible start by opening fire on the first three guards.

Another innovation presented at this E3 on the Ubisoft booth, "the last known position." It is actually a marker to see the place where the enemy think you are. It can then attempt to neutralize the spill while knowing in what direction it is spinning. Coupled with the marking system, this option has some potential tactics that we hoped to see exploited.

If it is faster, Sam Fisher has also become more violent and expeditious. Very angry, old man Sam tires to knock over his enemies and made the demo began, moreover, by a sequence of tough questioning in a toilet unsavory whose condition does not work out after Saturday will finished with his "suspect". Which brings us to another very interesting feature of the game's narrative. All elements relating to the story progression will be made in the form of flashbacks directly displayed on the walls, as if from a film projector. The idea is as original as its achievement is convincing. Especially since this kind of fireworks will also be used to enhance the atmosphere. When approaching its target, it will review such images of Fisher's daughter on the wall facing us. Moreover, this projection is also used to guide the player. If your goal is to infiltrate a mansion, when you approach, you will see the target displayed on the manor in question. Thus, nothing forced the player out of the game, nor the need to consult with its objectives, or a train, not even after loading.

If we have unfortunately not been able to put their hands on the game, it must be said that envy is quite hot. This Sam Fisher crazed anger is very attractive. The proposed break with the gameplay of the series seems perfectly controlled and if all goes well, we might have here a set of original infiltration, even if it remains to be seen what action will take part in this delicate sauce. We remain enthusiastic in any case, because at first glance, it dislocated.
