After the very successful mixed Kane & Lynch, Io Interactive decided to take the air preparing for the arrival of a project at odds with the mini-Ninjas. Announced on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS, this fun and colorful adventure has left close to a first look at an event organized by Eidos in London. First impressions.
Mini Ninjas: maximum color and humor
Once terrorized by the misdeeds of a Samurai of Darkness, the world lived in peace since the defection of the latter. It could obviously be so forever: the super ugly resurfaced and closed by turning an army animals samurai through misuse of magic. A magic that also control the Ninjas for more altruistic purposes. When the threat of a world plunged into darkness again point the Ninjas clan decided to fight it by sending its best people. Unfortunately none of them come back, forcing the keeper of the clan to seek his two apprentices, worst of all.
So this pair of broken-arm embodied the player. A big and small, Laurel & Hardy of the infiltration, the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill of ninjutsu. The presentation led by a representative of Io Interactive started in a village attacked by the troops of the Samurai Dark. At the controls of small Hiro, our demonstrator was initially pleased to offer an overview of the capabilities. In good ninja, the guy is agile, runs small and frantic strides - too cute - and climbing walls with ease. But the most interesting lies in its technical Ninpo (ninja magic). The little man may, among other things, take possession of an animal - too cute! - And hit a rain of fire on his enemies, knowing they could obviously be learning new techniques to measure its progress.
Along with these every character has Ninpo techniques. Hiro can, for example, stop time (not see any reference to a certain range), target multiple enemies and then attack them in turn. Particularly effective, this technique will require consideration in the consumption of a red orb in the top three in stock. These orbs are not commonplace in the levels surveyed, it will therefore be used sparingly.
Mini Ninja: between action, platform and too cute!
It is very nice to me all that you say, but Hiro is it also a stealth Hayabusa Ryû? A little further still. Our mini-ninja can actually hide in the bushes or lurking in the tall grass but also become invisible and make sure the initiative in fighting against a troop of samurai. At the first blow, his invisibility ends but gave him time to take control. Finally, in another register, the character played trimballe with him an impressive head covering which can be used to shield the face or archers Craft fortune to cross a river. Too cute!
"It seems fairly clear that Mini Ninja is primarily for young players
In total, five acolytes Hiro will join in his quest. Support important it will be possible to request at any time by a switch to another character from an easy access. For now we have discovered that two of them: our big fellow and his hammer, and small Suzume flute and bewitching. If you believe the demonstration, each new player must be issued from the clutches of Dark Samurai to join our hero.
It seems fairly clear that Mini Ninja is primarily for young players. His style graphics, it does not necessarily entitled to them, should delight in the first place. A design is simple, clean and colorful, which is immediately appealing. The environments are full of small sounds, the music is as discreet and characters, enemies as allies, spoke with small voices fluette in a caricatured Japanese - too cute!
Presented on Xbox 360, Mini Ninjas should offer a substantially equivalent achievement for Wii and PlayStation 3, while the DS version, developed in France, will offer a gameplay adapted to the peculiarities of the medium. In short, Mini Ninjas looks a little like playing cute - you'll easily guess - which should find its audience mainly on Nintendo machines. We should have the heart net a few months, the title is scheduled for this fall on all media.
