Unveiled last November, the project Tropico 3 is being developed among Bulgarians of Haemimont Games. Exploitation rights have been recovered by Kalypso Media, the British publisher who gave the third series of the "banana" to the creators of Imperium Romanum.
After weeks without any information, we now have enough to satisfy fans thanks to an article published in PC Games. Not content to have the first screenshots, our colleagues have also got some interesting details.
It is first of course no question of change of context or theme and Tropico 3 will retain the status of simulator banana republic "of the previous series. The historical context should be more assertive with many elements to wedge the game on the period of the Cold War. The reapprochement with Cuba is indeed obvious, but the largest island in the Caribbean is never mentioned.
The player will have the opportunity to play different types of leaders and it will be quite possible to embody a bloodthirsty dictator suppressing any opposition leader or a more conciliatory. The aspect "publisher" will be more present than on previous opus with the opportunity to create their own character and choose specific skills. It is also possible to create his own island in shaping the field and defining some key demographic. Of course, a random generation option will be present.
Although we do know very well that the interest may be, it will be possible to directly control the character to sunbathe on the beach, go play at a casino or make a speech on the balcony of the palace Presidential. Finally, Haemimont Kalypso Media Games and reiterated their commitment to market Tropico 3 before the end of the year, but have not been more specific.
