    Atari acquires Cryptic Studios

The arrivals of David Gardner and Phil Harrison to head Atari had been a first signal, the two men who clearly indicated they wanted to save the éditeur on track on game online. We now have the "second signal" with the formalization of the acquisition by Atari of Cryptic Studios, a team already well known to fans of MMO.

At the root of the diptych City Of Heroes / City of Villains, the team is currently developing two titles, Champions Online and Silkroad Online, which should emerge under the banner Atari in 2009 for the first and in 2010 for the second. The agreement signed by both parties mention of a third title, yet mysterious, in 2011 while technology developed by the studio can be reused by Atari on other projects.
