Blizzard has confirmed that this half-day Wrath of the Lich King has managed to sell 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours on sale, making it the fastest PC game sold in history.

"We are very grateful for the incredible support that players from around the world continue to provide World of Warcraftt," said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard's top. "Wrath of the Lich King contains the best that we have created to date for this game, and we look for more players to join the experience in coming days."
