hey man my configuration is aint that good its a pretty old setup with single core athlon, ASUS sli board and 3 gb DDR-1 ram , i suggest u go for a core 2 duo setup over good asus or gigabyte board with 4 gigs ddr2 ram and Ati 4850/4870 graphics card (if price is a factor for graphics go fro 8800gt), this should help u for 2-3 years to come

Ok then. You,re from Kerala? I'm from Assam and M Working in Kerala.
Is it ok if I go for an Intel mobo? You recommended Asus or Gigabyte. What are their advantage over the ones you recommended?

intel mobos are cheap and stable, but they dont have the overclocking capability or its disabled via Bios, if ur into overclocking and want the maximum juice out of ur processor then go for boards other than intel otherwise intel is ur best bet for a budget pc

I've zeroed down on the nVidia GeForce 7800 GS AGP and the ATI HD 3850 AGP. Please suggest me their prices and which one will be better.
    I'm using P4 2.8/865GBF/512DDR
    Thanks

the 3850 must be the best choice for u ,the price for a 3850 might be 40% more than the 7600gs , hope ur processor is dual core to gain the best out of the vga card ,please check online for prices

I'm looking to upgrade an old Sony Vaio pc and just wondered if anyone could recommend the best AGP card available? I have found other threads with the same question but they seem to be a little out of date now!
I have Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz, 1Gb PC2100 SDRAM, and old IDE HDD's. I have an xbox 360 so not looking for cutting edge stuff but would like to play some old and some new games.

possibly and upgrade on ur system wont make u much happy with latest games, if u are okay with games 2 year old or so go for nvidia 7800 or ATi
1950 , better cards are availalble on AGP platform but ur existing hardware will bottleneck the performance
