There are third party programs which make changes in Windows registry and do the things. But this is a risky process. Because that can create a error if not done properly. So it is always better to backup a copy first and then go ahead with making changes. Today in this short tips I am going to show you the way through which you can simply remap the keys of your keyboard. You can make things as per your need and then you can apply the settings. • Click on Start and in the search box type regedit and hit enter. In Registry Editor go in File > Export. This is to create a simple backup of registry files.
• Click on Start and in the search box type system restore. Create a restore point.

Steps to remap the keys of a keyboard in Windows 7:

Method 1: Editing Windows Registry

The first thing you can do is modify a registry key. You will have to start registry editor by typing regedit in the Start > Search box. In that locate the below path. And at the right you can find Keyboard layout. You can make changes in the value you are looking for. Always take a backup before doing.

The second method is to use a third party software like Sharpkeys. This tool will help you to modify the keyboard layout if you are not very sure of editing the registry files of Windows. Sharpkeys will make direct changes and will help you to get the kind of output you want. You have to click on Add and then click on Typekey. Like press Ctrl to identify the same. You can assign keys in this way.

Method 3: Using Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator

Last method is to use Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. This tool will allow you to create your keyboard from scratch. This is also quite simple and easy to use feature. The tool will let you to create a simple keyboard from scratch. You can use the existing keyboard layout modify it and create one of your own.
