How to backup Wordpress site in Dropbox

If you are having a blog or website in Wordpress and you are trying to find out different options for taking the entire site backup then you can try using Dropbox. Dropbox is a free cloud storage service which offer you around 3GB of space for free. And I think that is enough for your wordpress backup. So here there is a simple option through which you can link your Dropbox account to your Wordpress site and this will create a auto backup in the cloud storage. This auto backup can be restored easily if there is any problem with your website. Sometime it happens that site is hacked or sometime there are problem with changes you had done. To restore that you must have a latest copy with you. Taking manual backup all the time from cpanel is a time consuming process. Or else you can contact your hosting provider and ask him to create auto backup which might cost you a free. But here we will be using a option which is free and easy for everyone to use. Good part of using wordpress is that you won't have to wait for any developer help. There are ready to use plug-in which are simple and easy. You can sync your site and various other files with dropbox and enjoy smooth file sharing also.

Some plug-in which are bit advance also offer you more options than using Dropbox. You can sync your files into different accounts like Google Drive, Onedrive, etc. But here I think Dropbox will be more than enough for your regular usage. Dropbox works well with Wordpress and does not need any kind of interference.

Steps to enable Dropbox in Wordpress:-

Login to your website admin page. By default it is xys.com/wp-admin. Add your login details. Then from the left click on Plug-in.

At the top you can see Add New. Click on that. At the top right you can see a search box. Type WordPress Backup to Dropbox plug-in in that.

Click on the install button and at the end click on Activate Plug-in.

Now at the bottom left you can see WPB2D. Click on that. We have to authorize the plug-in first. Click on Authorize button. It will take you to dropbox.com where you have to entire your dropbox account details. You will get connected to Dropbox. Now go back on the Admin page and again click on WPB2D. And then click on Continue.

Now form here you can configure the backup settings. Like you can enable a schedule backup, you can exclude that you don't want to add in the backup, etc.
