When you run a search from the home of Windows 8, it usually saves your queries and stores them in a log. Here's how to purge this history.

  1. On the Home screen, move the mouse pointer at the top right of the screen to bring up the Charm bar. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Windows + C.

  2. After that click Settings.
  3. Now you have to click Change settings of the PC.

  4. In the left column, click Search.
  5. Click Clear History.
  6. The history is then emptied. Close the window with the keyboard shortcut Alt + F4.
