question Backing Up Web addresses On Firefox

Fairly soon I will have a friend give me an 80 gig hard-drive--replacing the dinasour 20gig HD I currently have. I am in need of more HD space for additional stuff I'm using.

I was instructed to backup several files which I am doing. But I have many websites in my history file from Firefox.

I am wondering how do I back these up?

The idea, as I'm told, is to image the old HD onto the new one. I don't want to risk losing these. How do I save these from Firefox?

Mozilla Firefox stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions, in a profile folder on your computer, in a location separate from the Firefox program. This article explains how to back up your profile, restore it, or move your profile to a new location or computer. Follow the steps given here -

So would that include "History" files too?

    I don't have any bookmarks.

For History, you can try to open the merge together the bookmarks and history manager by going into Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks or by History > Show all history. After that you can choose history items with the mouse or keyboard and by using the Shift key and cursor Down, in the pane at the right and then copy them to use clipboard through right click context menu and copy. After that you can export the bookmarks to an Html file to have a backup.
