I see many people who have upgraded to ios 6 with a hope of getting something better and have gone through their worst time. Many iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch user are running in to different issues after updating their iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to ios 6. So I am here to share steps for downgrading iOS 6 to iOS 5.
Note – Backup your device before proceeding with below steps, you can backup your device manually to iCloud by navigating to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and choosing “Back Up Now.” Or Back up in iTunes by right-clicking your device in the sidebar and selecting “Back Up Now.”
Steps:
First you will have to download IPSW file of iOS 5.1.1 from Apple’s servers for restoring your apple device, you can get specific version of iOS 5.1.1 for your device form below:
iPad 1
iPad 2 Wi-Fi
iPad 2 (GSM - AT&T)
iPad 2 (CDMA - Verizon)
iPad 2,4 (New iPad 2)
iPad 3 Wi-Fi http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS5.1.1/0...6_Restore.ipsw
iPad 3 (GSM - AT&T)
iPad 3 (CDMA)
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4 (GSM)
iPhone 4 (CDMA)
iPhone 4S
iPod touch 3rd generation
iPod touch 4th generation
Once you have downloaded your IPSW file, launch itunes, connect your iphone, once it gets recognized in itunes hold down Option key while clicking on “Restore” button.
Finder will come up with selection dialog and you can select your IPSW file there and click on “Open” button.
When your device gets restored to iOS 5.1.1 you can restore your backup from either iTunes or iCloud.
