With the prevalent use of the media, we are seeking the best and most convenient ways to enjoy digital content only need to play them on your computer. Here, I will show you how the NAS can act as an iTunes music server to manage the music on the QNAP.

Enable the iTunes server on the NAS: Go to 'Applications'>' iTunes service, 'and the' General 'tab. Select the iTunes service by selecting the checkbox labeled ' Enable iTunes service. You can configure the service to request authentication by entering a password. Depending on the language of their file names, you can select the correct encoding of your language. Click 'Apply' to proceed.

By default, the iTunes finds all music files stored on the NAS Qmultimedia folder, so that these can start transferring and sharing through Windows mapped drive or FTP.

Location of service in iTunes: Connect the PC and QNAP NAS to the same LAN to run iTunes on your PC. You should see an entry (usually the name of your NAS) in subsection 'SHARED' in the left pane of the iTunes interface (TS-219-Pro in this example). Click the name of the NAS and will list all music files stored on Qmultimedia, which can be played immediately.

With this feature you can save mp3 files from the NAS instead of using different computers at home, and then play from the NAS in the iTunes player through any computer. You can also select music files from the NAS and export them to your iPod. The media player devices like Roku's Sound Bridge have become very popular recently. Some of these devices let you play music with iTunes on the network. These devices can be used to play mp3 files on the NAS without turning on your computer.
