How to Install Bonjour on Windows

Bonjour is an application by Apple network technology which can be used to add a printer which is attached to any Mac or any other wireless network. First you need to go to Apple’s Web site and download Bonjour for Windows. And if any user how is using Windows XP or Windows Vista 64 Bit can also download a compatible version of Bonjour for Windows here.

Once you download the software now it’s time to install it but yes you will be need admin right if you need to install this software. Now as you double click the downloaded file you will be seeing the below Welcome screen:

Now after doing that you need to click on Next Button. As soon as you click on the next button you will be taken to a licensing agreement page you need to read that page about the terms and condition.

Here on this screen after reading the licensing agreement you will have to select I accept the terms in the license agreement now after selecting that you will have to select NEXT button.

As soon as you press next button you will see a screen where it would be showing you all the information regarding the software Bonjour and by reading that information you will come to know all the things about Bonjour what is it used for how to use it all almost all the details which are useful to use that software.

Now on that screen click on Next Button and it will be asking you for two options about installing this software.

So if you ask me I would ask you to select both the options as the first option is about the Create Bonjour Printer Wizard desktop shortcut, as if you select this option it would be easy for you to find it when you would like to install the printer, and also after installing the software from there you can also delete that shortcut from there. And the second option is about Automatically update Bonjour and other Apple software, and by selecting this it will automatic update your software online as soon as it gets the latest updates about this software. And yes if you select this option it will also install some other software’s, Apple Updater for Windows, and this will update other Apple software such as iTunes, Quicktime and Safari. Now after selecting the option click on Install button, as soon as you select that button it will start installing you software in your computer.

You will have successfully installed Bonjour for Windows on your computer.

Now just click on Finish button.

How to Know if it successfully installed

Check the Internet Explorer toolbar
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. In the browser's toolbar, you should see the Bonjour icon (a swirling icon). If no Bonjour icon is present, the software is not installed on your computer (So just check how to "Uninstall and reinstall," this software below).
3. If the icon is present, click it to display a window that lists Bonjour services available on the network. If you see this window, the software is functioning normally.

Grab a menu from the Explorer Bar
If your browser window doesn't display a toolbar to check for the Bonjour icon, extent the Explorer Bar submenu instead. You can use the Bonjour menu item to duplicate the function of its toolbar icon. To find it:
1. Click the View menu and point to Explorer Bar.
2. A submenu should appear with Bonjour listed as a menu item if the software is installed.
3. Click Bonjour to display a browser panel on the left that lists Bonjour services available on the network.

Uninstall and reinstall
If none of the items described above are present after you've installed Bonjour, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
1. Go to the Control Panel and click on Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select Bonjour from the list.
3. Click Change/Remove.
4. Choose Remove, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
5. Reinstall Bonjour for Windows from the Apple website, or the media on which it was supplied to you.

How to add the wizard to add a printer and Internet Explorer plug-in

To install Bonjour for Windows with the wizard for adding a printer and Internet Explorer plugin, follow these steps:
1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
2. If you are using Windows XP, double-click Add / Remove programs.
3. If you are using Vista, double-click Programs and Features.
4. Locate Bonjour list, select it and click Remove.
5. In a Web browser, access the site http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...orwindows.html
6. Download and install Bonjour for Windows on your Windows system.
7. You will be prompted to install on a desktop shortcut to the wizard for adding a printer.
8. If you choose No, you can still access the wizard.
9. Click on All Programs.
10. Select Bonjour, Bonjour Printer Wizard and then choose from the menu.
