Tips to purchase a new Camera Lens

do you wanted to purchase a new lens for digital SLR camera you are having. I know it will be quite difficult to find out the one which is best suitable for you. when you are looking to buy a lenses then it is necessary that you should get value for your money. But if you are looking to get high-quality photography then you should consider following points apart from the price tag of the device.

    Focal Length

‘you should aware of that what kind of photography you are supposed to do with new lens. Since some specific kind of focal length which would be suitable for specific kind of shooting situations. wide-angle lenses which are having range of 10mm and 20mm are suitable for landscape or architectural shots..
Long zooms lenses are suitable for wildlife photography. 50mm and 100mm lenses are considered as Portrait. 70mm-to-200mm zooms might fall into the same category as well. If you are looking to have one and all purpose lenses then I recommend that you should consider the range of the focal lengths for eg 18mm to 200mm.

    Fixed Aperture vs. Variable Aperture

As far as I know camera lenses are having both fixed aperture or variable aperture. Well Fixed apertures allows enter of maximum amount of light into your camera at any given focal length. It simply gives you great amount of versatility. However those lenses are available at with very high price tag.
Variable-aperture lenses are having range of maximum aperture of f3.5 to f.5.6. you can have good lenses in Variable-aperture. Those lenses are not having same optical quality as that of the fixed-aperture equivalent. Even you cannot use Variable-aperture lenses to shoot the photos in to low light situation.

    Zooms vs. Primes

Zoom lenses are designed to work with wider range of focal lengths such lenses are known as adaptable lenses but make sure that you are not supposed to change the lenses frequently to get the shot which you wanted. The negative side is you will need to do bit compromises so that you can get such flexibility. You can suffer from Barrel distortion or pincushioning when you are supposed to use extreme focal lengths on your zoom lenses. Also you can get less sharper images by using Zoom lenses.

Prime lenses are having fixed focal length. They are manufactured with focal length itself. They are having less disadvantages as compared to Zoom lenses. They are having optically superior for the purpose of Zoom and they are more durable. The main issue is price that means prime lenses are supposed to be more costly than that of zoom lenses.

    Stabilized vs. Nonstabilized Lenses

To have a Image stabilization provides great advantages for photographers as it supposed to helpful to counteract effect when camera gets shaked while capturing image. Hence you will be able to shoot at shutter speeds as you are not supposed to do normally.
Camera manufacturers are saying that image stabilization supposed to be good factor but they are divided how they can be provided. Nikon and Cannon are having built in image stabilization on their lenses where as Sony and Pretex preferred to build a sensor system on their camera body. However both the things are doing same kind of job as well. camera stabilization is associated with lower lens costs issue and it also allow the users so that they can attach with modern lens on the camera that they are using and still they would be able to get the advantage of image stabilization.

    HD Video Lenses

There are really few amount of lenses available in the market which are designed for recording of HD video on Digital SLR Camera. There are some lenses which are supposed to provide better results as compared to any other lenses. Especially when you are having buy large aperture prime lenses which are equipped with manual focus rings which you can adjust without having much trouble. You will get superior optical quality with prime lenses. If you have selected large aperture then you are going to have best results for shooting in low light conditions and also you can control the death of the field.

Autofocus is supposed to be the most essential feature for today world cameras particularly when you are looking to do still-image photography,. However this particular technology is still involving for video. Most of the DLR I have noticed which are seems to be slow to focus accurately. If you are wanted to shoot HD video than I recommend that you should look for manual focus so that you can get the desired effect.
