    How to secure your Email

I have some steps that can help you to secure your emails. Today there are hundreds of spam that effect your mails. For the same you must go through the following option for more security. Emails are confidential and they contains private data which is not recommended to read publicly. For that you must carry out all appropriate measures which is necessary. Read the below tips and you can make your mails more secure.

    Secure IMAP / POP :

This one is the first way to secure your email. When users connect to your mail server using IMAP or POP, they (or rather their mail clients) are invited to enter their login information. Normally, this information is transmitted in clear text, meaning that anyone with network access (whether from the LAN or via an unsecured wireless connection) can intercept the username and user passwords. Using IMAP or POP secure will encrypt the connection information.

Create and use SPF records :
A malicious user can insert any name and email address in the From field, a trick often used to get a phishing attempt for a message seriously . The use of Standard Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a way to improve the security of the sender. The use of the SPF system actually involves two strategies one for sending and one for receiving electronic mail. It is necessary to create an SPF record for your domain as your mail server to affix the certification of authenticity of the sender on outgoing mail. You can also configure your mail server to check the SPF record incoming messages.

Deploy a firewall with antivirus :
A properly configured firewall can scan attachments of incoming mail and take a number of measures. You can restrict certain attachments to specific file types or, better yet, automatically run a virus scan. Suspicious attachments can be removed or quarantined even before the user sees the message.

    Digital Signatures :
You can also certify the authenticity of the sender using digital signatures. While the SPF system acts on the mail server, digital signatures are involved at the user level. Most mail clients support digital signatures, but a sender must first obtain a personal certificate before they can use. You can obtain a certificate for free for a limited time from several certification authorities or you can pay a nominal fee for a certificate of longer duration.

    Encryption S / MIME:
To really lock your emails, you can use digital signatures mentioned above to enable encryption of messages. Your digital certificate includes both a public key and private. To send an encrypted message, you must have the recipient's public key. To read encrypted mail intended for you, you must use a mail client that has your private key. The email content will remain encrypted on your hard drive, which will prevent your messages being read in case of theft and be indexed for search .

I use a method of blacklisting mails. I use this to separate unwanted email from the regular e-mail stream. You can judge that easily. You can just found which mails you do not want and blacklist them. Next time your mail service will block them and will not receive mails from them. There is also the danger that companies end up accidentally on a blacklist and then send for several days with no e-mails.

There are various methods carried out to protect users from maximum risk of spamming and virus. There is an mechanism called Filtering. You can use this in your mail clients and it also comes with anti-virus. The content scanning solutions have two things in common. First, they are generally based on an analysis of the e-mail content. Second, all e-mails have to be adopted at all for now. So they just check invalid content and stop it. Most anti-spam technologies are based on a variety of complex scoring mechanism, which analyze the individual words in a message.
