Print Webpage more easily with Firefox

Generally when you want to print a web page, click the File menu, click Print and click OK to start printing. The concern is that sometimes the outcome is far from satisfactory: frames, tables, width of the page ... there are many reasons that the printout is not an exact replica of the Web page displayed on the screen.

Fortunately, Firefox has a print preview handy you will of adjusting and lay out Web pages that interest you to print correctly. For quick access to this feature, you can place a shortcut on the toolbar: one click well enough to adjust the printing of the current web page.

Feel free to also use the Print section often offered by publishers and Web sites that can display a lighter version of the item you want to print, purged of unnecessary elements: advertising, menus, etc..

    Paper Adjustment:

Firefox allows you to define precisely the scale of the web page to be printed to fit the whole on a sheet of paper.
    • Before printing a page, click the File menu and then click Print Preview.
    • Firefox automatically adapts the Web page to fit horizontally on a sheet of paper.
    • To reduce the number of leaves to use, you can reduce the scale, so the magnification of the page. Pull down the list for this scale and choose a lower scale. Repeat until you find the right balance between readability and number of sheets needed. To let Firefox adjust the width, select Fit to Page.
    • To print a large picture or image, please rotate the sheet by clicking on the View button.
    • When you are satisfied with the preview, click the Print button, configure your printer then click OK to start printing.

    Headers and Footers:

When you print a Web page, Firefox displays the page title and address of the top sheet and the page number and date below. You can customize the elements to be printed in the headers and footers.Below is how to do so:-

    • In the preview window before printing, click Page Setup.
    • Open the margins, headers and footers.
    • In the section headers and footers, choose from the lists Left, Center and Right, what to display at the top and bottom of pages printed in the desired location. For example you can remove the date and time are printed at the bottom right of the page by selecting the option - blank.
    • Finally, click OK. You see the result in print preview.

If only a paragraph you want, you do not have to print the Web page. You can print just the way you want. To do so:-

    • Select with the mouse the transition to print.
    • Click the File menu click Print.
    • In the Print Area section, select the Selection option.
    • Adjust your printer settings, and click the OK button to start printing.

Printing only text of a page:

    • If you do not want to print all graphics and images on a Web page, you can print only the text. To do this you must go through a software word processor like Word, Writer or notepad.
    • To print only the text of a Web page, click the File menu, click Save As.
    • Pull down the Type list and select Text Files.
    • Choose a temporary file name, eg print and click the Save button.
    • Then open this file with your word processor.
    • Remove unnecessary parts and bits of HTML code that might have occurred in the document to retain only the text to print.
    • Finally, print it as you would with any document.
