While Vista has some functions for basic burning CDs, DVDs and HD-DVD, it lacks support for ISO files, that is to say, images created from records. The system can neither create nor restore them through burning.
It does not exist in Vista backdoor to access such a recording, but you can install a small utility that integrates well into the system and changes in fact internal functionality.
The software in question is called ISO Recorder and is available in 32 and 64 bit. Once downloaded and installed, right-click a drive in Explorer will display the following line:
Similarly, right-click an ISO file will display the following line:
There remains then but to be guided by the last step, very simple.
