Reduce automatic backup time and access favorite documents quickly

Word automatically creates a copy of your documents every 10 minutes, allowing you to recover if something goes wrong. If you work quickly, you may feel that this period is too long, given the content that you can lose. It is possible to reduce to minimize data loss. Let's see how.

For this, click the Office button and then click Word Options. Click on the Save section.

    - In the right pane, make sure Save AutoRecover information box is checked and then enter 1 for example in the right field to record information every minute.

    - Finally, click OK. The change is immediately active.

Note: You can finally set the number of recent documents by clicking the Word Options button, then click Advanced Options, Show category.

Re: Reduce automatic backup time and access favorite documents quickly

In Word XP and 2003, there is a Work menu, activated via the Tools menu, Customize, which allows to have a list of favorites documents. But not in Word 2007. Here is how to bridge this gap.

Click on the Office button. The list of recently opened documents appears. By default, the oldest documents disappear gradually as you open new ones.

    - To constantly keep certain documents in this list (your favorite documents), simply use the button to the right pin of the document name.

    - Clicking on this button, it displays green, indicating that the document will be stored permanently in the list. By clicking again on the pin, it becomes gray and the document may be deleted.
