help with "vista's taskbar previews tweak"

Hello.

I have been trying this tweak for nearly two days and not getting anywhere,
Has anyone else had the same problem.

Its how to change the size of thumbnails in windows vistas taskbar
I have done everything right, but it will not work, here is a snapshot of the registry.

I am using windows vista home premium, 32 bit
Windows explorer 8

I am bashing my head agaist the wall, trying to figure this out

There are two ways here to increase the thumbnail in windows vista taskbar. Firt either use Vista Thumbnail Resizer. A freeware tool which you can use to set the size of thumbnails. It is very easy to use. The second step you try to edit the registry editor. Here is the simple process. Run the registry editor and navigate to this location - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics. The click on Edit > New > String Value. Type the name MinWidth and then add the value "-285". Click on OK and exit registry editor. Restart your windows.

Hello flashx.
I am aware of the easy way "thats to easy" but this should work in the registry, but is doe's not as you can see in the snapshot.



As you can see i have done everything right.

My snapshot in the first post was supposed to work as well, but again it doe's not.
Which leaves me to think , i either have to enable or disable something
or this doe's not work on home premium 32 bit .

Or possable delete the registry name value on.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\
EXPLORER > "thumbnailsize"

because this is not working either, both this tweaks are on various websites
So really i should not have a problem getting this to work in my case

• First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
• Go to <b> [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer \]</b>,right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "ThumbnailSize" in "Explorer" key.
• Next, right-click on "ThumbnailSize" and click on 'Modify'.
• Finally, enter the per-user pixel size in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Hello spearMan are you not seeing my screen shots, as this is what i have tryed in the very first screen shot.
Anyway here they are again

Either this is right or it is wrong , you really carn't mess around

You have to ThumbnailSize a value between 32 and 256 by selecting the Decimal. This value corresponds to the size of thumbnails in pixels. The default is 96.

Its the same as what i have already tryed in the screen shots, i have tryed different values also.

the second DWORD value you mentioned about quality, is an option you can leave that one out.
But just creating a DWORD value "ThunbnailSize" and selecting decimal and entering a decimal value of say 150 should work.

But it seems there are no answers to this, well none that i can find.
I mean you just follow the instructions and expect it to work, because they are so easy to follow, but what is going wrong here.
