    Deleting hidden files directly

My PC was affected with a virus and then I scanned it with Kaspersky and it removed all the viruses. Now my PC is showing clean of all the viruses but now there were some hidden files that are not showing up even if the 'show hidden files' option is enabled. The data in those hidden files was not so much important so I want to delete those hidden files so that after reinstallation of the new windows there remain no traces of viruses inside. How can I remove these hidden files directly?

Before trying anything else, try to go into Safe Mode and enable the hidden files option there. I once had the similar problem and I could access the files through the safe mode.

There is also other method of deleting any files from DOS but that is somewhat difficult and I dont remember it properly now. First try the safe mode way and revert back.

You better transfer the data from the drive to another drive and then simply format the empty drive. This itself will remove the hidden files from the drive completely. If the hidden files/folders are in the C drive (i.e. windows installation drive) then they will be deleted when you format your drive for reinstallation.

Thanks for the suggestions. Aren't there any softwares that can find the hidden files and remove them directly? If there are no such reliable software, then I will surely do the method described by XDRoX. The only heck for me trying this method is that there is a lot of data in that partition and it will take lot of time to move the data to another drive and then move back in after reinstall.

Did you do this method "Show hidden files/folders" in "Tools -> Folder Options", its automatically disabled again.
Solution for that: Go to your Start menu, click on Run and open up your Registry Editor by typing "regedit" without the quotes and pressing OK.
    Once there go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\F older\Hidden\SHOWALL
Delete the value CheckedValue. (Its type should be REG_SZ and data should be 0 or 1.)
Create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD) by right clicking on the right pane->New->DWORD Value. Modify the value data to 1 (0x00000001).
I don't sure above trick will work with your computer.
It is Worked in my computer
