Block an Email Address With Network Solutions

More often than not a personal e-mail box has a large percentage of spam mail. Some times even the e-mail service might slip up on the filtering and send useless spam to the inbox instead of the spam folder. In fact it has been estimate that over 60% of all mail sent is spam. Here is a way to use Network Solutions to block an e-mail address without the need to buy any software or service:-

    1. Open your Network Solutions email account in your preferred way, through the web page interface or email software such as Microsoft Outlook.

    2. Identify the email address that you want to block.

    3. Email "reportspam@networksolutionsemail.com" with the email address you want to block. You can also forward the offending email. The abuse team at Network Solutions will investigate and take action as needed to reduce the level of spam reaching your inbox.

    4. You may not receive a response from Network Solutions about that specific email address, but the email address will have been blocked from your account.

    5. Retain reported emails in your account for future reference. In the event that Network Solutions needs them for further investigation, you will have them handy.

Spam accounts for over 45 percent of the mail an average person receives in their email inbox. Everyone has to cope with a daily barrage of unwanted advertisements and scam emails. These emails range from unsolicited offers to identity theft phishing scams. Although Network Solutions has partnered with Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam to reduce spam emails, some will invariably slip through. Blocking an email address is an easy and effective way to deal with spam or other unwanted intrusions into your Network Solutions email account.

The first step is to open your Network Solutions e-mail account. You can do this either by e-mail software such as MS Outlook or using webmail.

The next move is to send an e-mail to reportspam@networksolutionsemail.com and specify the e-mail address you want to get blocked. You need not go into any details and just mentioning the suspect e-mail address will do. That’s all! The blocking of the e-mail address will take a week to get activated.

Spam is an online fact of life, but you can reduce your chances of receiving spam by setting your email address to "private" on social networking sites, forums, websites or other places where spammers can harvest your email address.
Spamming and phishing are a real problem on the Internet. Always open spam emails with caution and never open attachments. Report any spam or phishing emails immediately to Network Solutions to help reduce spam for everyone

If you are using Outlook, you may also right click on the senders' email address and set a filter for the unwelcome email address to be routed directly to your junk mail folder.
