How to Test your password In Windows XP

To protect services on the Web or in your everyday life, you use passwords. To verify that a password is very secure and it offers effective protection, you can use a tester password.

    1. In your Web browser, go to the address http://www.microsoft.com/protect/you...d/checker.mspx.

    2. Enter the password to test in the password field.

    3. The effectiveness of your password is then indicated. For better protection, your password must be BEST.

    4. According to Microsoft, a secure password should appear as a random string of characters for the attacker. It must contain 14 or more characters (8 characters minimum). It should include a combination of lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols.

A strong password should appear to be a random string of characters to an attacker. It should be 14 characters or longer, (eight characters or longer at a minimum). It should include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
