How to set up multiple e-mail accounts in Outlook 2000

Hello friends,

I know that many people have a query how to set up multiple individual e-mail
accounts on one computer.

For setting up multiple e-mail accounts for one ISP account on a single computer there are three tasks to accomplish.

• Set the Passwords Options
• Set up additional Internet E-mail accounts
• Create a new Personal Folder

Following are the steps for Setting the Passwords Options

1. Click on Start, go to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
   
2. Double-click on the Passwords icon.
   
3. On the User Profiles tab, click to select "Users can customize their preferences and desktop settings. Windows switches to your personal settings when you log on."
   
4. Click OK, and then click Close. If Outlook has never been run on the computer, start Outlook and set up the first mail account using the information provided by your ISP.
   
5. After you set up the first mail account, Shut down and log in as another user to set up the other accounts.For Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, and Windows Millennium Edition: Click Start and then click Log Off <username>.
   
6. When prompted for the username and password, type the name of the new user along with the password.

Following are the steps for Setting Up an Internet Mail Account

1. Click on Start and go to Settings, and then click on Control Panel.
2. Now Double-click on Mail icon.
3. In Internet Accounts, click Add.
4. Type your display name and click Next.
5. Type your e-mail address as in the example and then click Next.
6. Type the mail server names , and click Next.
7. Type your e-mail account name and password if required, and then click Next.
8. Type a name for your Internet account. Click Next.
9. Click to select the connection type and click Next. Click Finish.
10. Close the Mail control panel and close the Windows Control Panel.

Following are the steps for creating a New Personal Folder

1. Click on the File menu, point to New, and click Personal Folders File (.pst).
   
2. Type the name of the new Personal Folder. Verify and change the file location if necessary. Click Create. Note Do not use the name mailbox.pst.
   
3. Verify and change the information if necessary, and then click OK.
   
4. If the Folder List does not appear, on the View menu,then click on Folder List.
   
5. Right-click the new Personal Folders, click on Properties for Personal Folders, and click Deliver POP mail to this personal folders file, click OK.
   
6. On the File menu, click Exit. Restart Outlook.
   
7. In the Folder List, right-click the Personal Folders not associated with Outlook Today, click Properties, click Advanced, and verify that the path of this file is different than the one you created in step 2. Click OK twice to close the dialogs.
   
8. In the Folder List, right-click the Personal Folders not associated with Outlook Today, and click Close Personal Folders Name.
