Vista Ultimate Language Packs are Extras that make use of the Multilingual User Interface (MUI) to enable menus and text in different languages. Follow these steps to install vista ultimate language pack:
  • Log into Vista. Make sure to log in as the user for which you want to apply a Language Pack.
  • Hit the Start button, and type "Windows Update" in the search field.
  • Click on the Windows Update application that is highlighted at the top of the window, under "Programs."
  • Run Windows Update. Click on "Check for Updates."
  • The window will then indicate whether or not new updates are available. Click on "Show Available Updates."
  • A dialog will appear showing a list of available updates, including Windows Ultimate Language Packs.
  • Install a Language Pack. Select a language, and click "Install."
  • Note that Language Packs are large downloads of approximately 200MB, and require as much as 1.2GB of storage space. It will take at least 30 minutes for the installation.
  • Accept any User Account Control (UAC) prompts that appear.
  • Apply the Language Pack.
  • Once the Language Pack has downloaded and installed, go to "Start," "Control Panel," and then double-click "Regional and Language Options."
  • Select the "Keyboards and Languages" tab, then choose the new language in the drop-down list under "Choose a display language."
