For Win95/Win98/Win98SE/WinME/NT4/Win2000/WinXPThis trick can download more files simultaneously increasing the number of HTTP sessions allowed on the same server. Indeed, to meet the specifications of HTTP 1.1 (limited to 2 connections) and HTTP 1.0 (limited to 4 connections), Windows default limit the number of simultaneous connections on a single server. If this gene does not necessarily when navigating a website, it is otherwise in the file downloads (from 2 or 4 files during download, Windows put on hold following).
We will increase the limit on the number of simultaneous downloads to 10 for HTTP 1.0 and 1.1.
- Open regedit (Start, Run ... and then type regedit)
- Go to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
- Create or edit the DWORD values and MaxConnectionsPerServer MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server by 0000000a (10 in hexadecimal).
- Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings and repeat the operation:
- Create or edit the DWORD values and MaxConnectionsPerServer MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server by 0000000a (10 in hexadecimal).
- Close regedit and restart Windows.
Of course you can choose for yourself the value corresponding to the number of simultaneous downloads to two protocols, one must in this case indicate a hexadecimal value.
Note that some servers themselves limited by the number of simultaneous connections to the same IP, this trick is useless in this case.
