How to get Messenger programs appear in the Add / Remove

The information is in the file sysoc.inf (Windows \ inf \ sysoc.inf). Take a copy of sysoc.inf and save the like. sysoc.old or save it in a different folder. Then you can restore it again. Open Sysoc.inf and find the line with, for example. MSN Messenger, remove the word HIDE on the line.


MSN Messenger line looks like this:
msmsgs = msgrocm.dll, OcEntry, msmsgs.inf, hide, 7

Amend to look like this:
msmsgs = msgrocm.dll, OcEntry, msmsgs.inf, 7


Save your changes. Now you can see MSN Messenger in Add / Remove Programs in Windows components.


NOTE: You can see hidden folders and files - you can change the folder options.
Alternatively, you can use the Search set up to look into its system and hidden files.

Wow! that is a great tip given. I was not knowing that messenger programs are not seen in add remove programs. But in case if it is required to remove any such messenger that is installed, this trick will do a lot of favor. Nice find Nihir

So this is applicable for MSN messenger also? Only a particular messenger or all messenger programs that doesn't show up in the add / remove programs. Anyways, I must say this will be a very nice tip if it works. I will try it today when I go ho on my PC.
