Changing default download location in Windows XP

    Hello,

I want to change my default location of downloads on another drive. Its because the current drive is fully occupied now. Can this be done very easily? Or provide me some tweaks to change the default locations.

    Thank you.

You will need some third party software to change the default download location. Tweak UI is one such utility which can help in changing the download location. Down it here.

It is also possible by altering some registry keys but i will not advise it if one is not well versed with the registry settings.

I am not well versed but I am aware of registry and have been there sometimes.

Please tell me that registry path. I will see if i can do anything. If I dont understand anything, I will not take any risk of altering it myself.

As you said this, I will give the registry path.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download Directory
See if you can do it yourself. Dont take chances.

Registry Path for changing default download location

Start -> RUN -> type regedit. Now the gegistry window opens. In that, click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER dropdown menu -> Software dropdown menu -> Microsoft dropdown menu. Now in that, highlight Internet Explorer. In Download Directory, change the default path of the download directory. (Just change the drive name.)
