    Not able to download file from some websites using Internet explorer 10

    There is something wrong with Internet explorer 10 of windows 8 pro. I have installed windows 8 in the morning and just now I have found that it is not able to download file from some websites. I am using windows 8 and explorer 10 for the very first time, so I want to know if there is any setting that I have to change for downloading files from all websites??? I have installed Mozilla firefox and I don’t have any such issue with it.

    You should be specific with your problems. I want to know if you are talking about the Metro UI internet explorer of you are talking about the desktop version???? Since you have mentioned that you have problem in downloading files from some sites, I want to know if you get any specific error. If yes then make a note of the same and post it in your next reply for further help. As far as I am aware one doesn’t have to change in Internet explorer 10 settings for downloading files rather than the path you want your download to get save.

    I am talking about the desktop version. I get an error message saying "<filename> couldn’t be downloaded" Its specific to some sites but there are some many of them. Listing them won’t be a good idea.

    Try this:
    Open internet explorer, click Internet Options and click on “Advanced tab”
    Now under Security area, uncheck “”Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box” and click on ok.

    In case that doesn’t work then you can start Registry Editor locate “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings “, click on Edit, click on “Add Value” and add below value.
    "BypassSSLNoCacheCheck"=Dword:00000001
    Just make sure that you are saving the changes before exiting Registry Editor.
