I think you have not set the TB as default mail client.

    1. You have to launch Thundebird and go for Tools and Click on Options.
    2. After that go for Advanced and click on General.
    3. Now you should select Use Thunderbird as the default mail application.
    4. After that you have to go for Edit and Preferences and click on Mail & Newsgroups.
    5. From Make SeaMonkey the default application for: option you have to click on Mail.

I used the above mentioned steps. I used Faststone capture to capture the screen and click on Email and it simply brings the preview, size and format. As I am click on the send button it is prompting error message.
‘Error in sending images: User cancelled request’

After going through the problem I recommend that you to add below mentioned Preference. Boolean setting should be True

    Code:
    network.protocol-handler.external.mailto

I don’t know whether below mentioned solution would work for you or not. But I recommend that you should reinstall the SeaMonkey on your system.
