First you put it in the Firefox search bar (where you keep the URL's entries) about: config and confirm with the Enter key. In the filter search box and clicking webgl you give a one time the line webgl.force-enabled with the entry. Now you can either press the right mouse button to click on the selected entry and then click on 'Change', or you simply press the Enter key and the value 'false' jump to 'true'.

Not only the Firefox but also the current Chrome and Safari browsers are WebGL. Chrome is the pioneer in this respect and, with "Chrome Experiments" some experiments with the 3D accelerator behind him, the closer it is worthwhile to consider.

You should not enable webGL. Because it is a design that can open the door to many problems, because if local applications are generally trusted, it is not the case with those based on the browser with WebGL enabled. In this case, the graphics bring the risk of breaking the barrier that hinders the denial of service (the principle of cross-domain). Which could allow malicious people to exploit the victim's computer by DDOS, malicious code execution or cross-domain.

WebGL is a standard specification that is currently being developed to display 3D graphics in web browsers. The WebGL allows you to enable accelerated 3D graphics hardware on websites.

Firefox has it enabled by default.

In current Firefox nightly builds can be enabled, 3D applications in the browser allows to control directly and without detours the 3D capabilities of the graphics card. Previously, even Webkit, the open-source framework under Apple's Safari browser, the technology was adapted.

Using WebGL, the module that Chrome and Firefox, 3D visualization can give hackers can break into a computer. The U.S. CERT recommends disabling the module. Context The British security company announced today that a fundamental problem lies in WebGL, the standard 3D display in Chrome and Firefox with no plugins possible. By the way WebGL works would be possible for malicious so as to break into a computer.

The latest version of Firefox available as a nightly build now includes the implementation of WebGL the Mozilla project.

This new standard for handling 3D graphics on the website is still under definition stage, but some projects are already creating early implementations, WebKit as it did a few days ago .

WebGL implementation is based on OpenGL, but in the case of Windows, this API is not always available. Temporarily are using a Windows port open source project officers , but there are plans to support Direct3D in the future, so that work on Windows natively.

This extension should however be supported by the video card drivers and that's not always the case. Khronos said to work well with the video card manufacturers. The Group proposes that the extension is already supported by many manufacturers and others will follow quickly. Khronos does not revealed to the manufacturers involved. In the future, according to Khronos standard browsers check that the extension is available for WebGL function is turned on so sure a computer is protected. Moreover, video card makers more aware of security of their drivers by WebGL.
