The situation is not with the web based info search. Chrome redirects users as per usual and it appears inconceivable to avert it from doing so. I'm in France, so the surmise Chrome makes is that I feel the need to run over to google.fr or yahoo.fr, paying little mind to what I sort in the url box. It's only resulting from the fact that I'm in a given nation doesn't mean that I desire to interface to weak neighborhood web spaces. Let the users choose.

Re: Unable to change the Locked Default search Engine URL in Google Chrome

I have got some tricks for you:
    1. Set your default online searching tool
    2. Click the wrench symbol on the program toolbar.
    3. Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on a Chromebook).
    4. Click the Basics tab and identify the "Search" area.
    5. Select the web based info search you have a desire to utilize from the menu. Since the web indexer you have a desire to utilize doesn't show up in the menu, click Manage search applications.
    6. In the Search Engines dialog that shows up, select the web based info search that you'd such as to utilize from the catalogue.
    7. Click the Make Default bind that shows up in the column.
