Mozilla firefox 6 working slowly and failing

I have been using Mozilla firefox since long time now. Mozilla firefox has been more reliable and best than other browsers in my point of view. I am currently using firefox 6 and previously I was using firefox 5. I upgraded to firefox 6 recently. But since the update I am very much disappointed with the version 6. I must say that firefox 6 is very slow. When I open any webpage using firefox 6 the browser acts very slowly. It was very much fine with the firefox 5. I don’t know what the problem is. Especially I have noticed that when I open facebook application the browser sometimes fails and acts very slowly. It takes long time to open any application. I have tried doing same things in internet explorer, and it performs very well as compared to the firefox 6. I think the problem is with the firefox 6.

I assume that you are running lots of applications at one time. If yes then I would say to stop doing so. May be that is creating problems. I would suggest you to disable few add-ons that you don’t use. These will faster the speed to some extent as far as I think. Let me tell you that Firefox 6 is a million times better than Explorer; there is no doubt about it.

Try to uninstall the firefox 6. You can install it again after installing. If you running any anti-malware software then don’t run it as it interferes with the firefox program and make it slow. Simply disable your anti-malware software and see if this resolves the problem. If your anti-malware is the issue, open up the software(s) permissions and make sure Firefox is a trusted program and has permission to communicate through your firewall. This should solve the problem. If it doesn’t, try uninstalling the anti-malware temporarily and then install an alternative antivirus or firewall.

First, check to see if Firefox 6 is installed on the same hard drive as your other browsers. If it isn’t then your performance problems might be caused by a problem with the hard drive’s performance. This is a likely cause if your performance issues are limited to the browser’s load times. If Firefox 6 is not installed on the same drive as your other browsers, reinstall it on the same drive.
