Preventing Google Chrome from switching over to the new tab

I recently installed Google Chrome web browser in my laptop. It is the default web browser in my laptop. The speed and performance of Chrome browser is excellent. I am quite satisfied with it. But there is functionality in Chrome Browser that I don’t like. Whenever I open a new tab in Chrome browser then it automatically switches to the new tab. I don’t want this to happen. Is there any setting to prevent the browser from switching to the new tab. Are you aware about this issue? If yes then please do the needful.

The issue that you have posted looks quite interesting. I haven’t encountered such issues before. Whenever you open a new tab you are automatically switched to that tab. You can press Ctrl+Tab to go back to another tab that is already opened. This is all I know, I don’t know how to prevent Chrome browser from automatically switching to the new tab. I try to get the solution for this issue as early as possible. I will definitely inform you about it when I get the solution.

The issue that you have posted is not complicated. As you don’t have much knowledge about web browser you will find it difficult to overcome. As you are having windows operating then it is much easier to solve this issue. To overcome the issue you need to install Chrome toolbox extension. After installing it you need to perform the following steps:
Click on the Toolbox tab in Chrome toolbox options-> click on the option button having the text”Open in background tab”. After you select this option then whenever you open the new tab the browser won’t switch to it.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion that you given to overcome the issue. I installed the Chrome toolbox extension and also performed the steps that you specified. It was successful, after that whenever I used to open the new tab the browser won’t switch to it. I got the exact solution that I needed to overcome my issue. I also shared these settings with my colleagues. They never knew such things are possible. I got to learn some new things form you.
