Where is RSS icon in Firefox 4

Before this upgradation of the Mozilla Firefox, I was using the firefox 3 which was having no problem at all regarding anything on it. Since I have installed the Firefox 4, there are many changes found on its user interface. But I am not able to find out that where is an icon for RSS links? When i was using the Firefox 3.6, It used to be at the right end of the address bar (adjuscent to the star). I hope that this feature has not been removed in new version.

Re: Where is RSS icon in Firefox 4

Bad surprise after installing Firefox 4, the RSS icon which so far was in the browser address bar is gone, disappeared in the fields of honor of the new ... This is also unfortunately the same thing with Chrome! This icon is especially useful when one wants to quickly subscribe to an RSS feed without having to find where it hides on a website. Looking into the address bar of your browser you know immediately if the site's author has provided the public subscription to an RSS feed and a click is heard the case, I add the feed to Google Reader to aggregate my other sources of information. RSS Icon is an extension for Firefox 4 to add the orange RSS icon in the address bar of this version 4. I successfully installed on the Firefox 4.

I mentioned a few days ago the terrible loss of status bar in the major new version of the browser Mozilla Foundation, currently still in beta. The reorganization of the user interface of Firefox 4 makes other changes that may, as appropriate, offending users. Is particularly concerned the disappearance of the RSS icon from the address bar, offered up to version 3.6 of the browser the ability to view RSS feeds from a web page.

The reason for the withdrawal of this button is rather clear and understandable by looking at a map of the hot areas of the interface based on feedback from 117,000 during seven days in the month of July 2010. Access to RSS is only used 5% 4% and 3% for intermediate users and novices. The interface of Firefox 4 visible out of the box, ie. immediately after installation, is indeed devoid of any icon or button, on purpose by the publisher. The detection and inclusion of RSS feeds available within the visited page is however made by the browser. As evidenced by the Bookmarks menu> Subscribe to this page. To recover the valuable indicator, the solution is to customize the toolbar to add the button.

You may have heard, Firefox 4 will have more buttons to indicate the presence of RSS in the address bar. The detection feature did not disappear, it is still available in the Bookmarks menu. And if you want a button always visible to your attention the presence of RSS, simply customize your toolbar in a few clicks. By cons, you may want to find the button to its previous location in the address bar? No problem, there is an extension "RSS icon in Awesombar" . And presto, everything goes well, you found the button as you like it with Firefox 3.6.
