How to make a call using Gmail

I am having one issue and i need your help to sort out this issue. Actually My issue is related to the Gmail. Today morning when i signed into the Gmail account of mine i got one Call Option in Chat List but i have no idea how to work with this. How to make call and what are the charges for making calls. If you are having any knowledge regarding same then do let me know about it. Thanks in advance.
