LAN/WLAN problems

i Have WLAN connection but thts all i used to have LAN connection and WLAN connection but now i only have WLAN please help

Can you please specify what problem you are facing in detail? What is your computer specifications? Which network card are you using in your pc? Have you tired turning off the firewalls temporarily to check whether your lan starts working again? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver of your network card in your computer. Let us know your results.

i have a Dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini card and that is the only device i have for WLAN ummm i really dont know nothing about drivers and stuff but i remember that i had LAN(local aera connection) and WLAN but one day i did a restore cpu thingy and it left me with only WLAN one internet access thing and i need 2 or more for xbox live

It might be possible that the installation of third party software might corrupted the network connection and deleted as well. If this is the case then you should troubleshoot this problem with the help of the below given instruction which will help you for same.

• Go to My Computer Icon
• Right-click My Computer
• Select Properties from Context menu
• Click on Hardware tab
• Then click Device Manager.
• Now find the network adapter
• Right Click on Network Adapter
• Select Uninstall
• Now restart the Computer
• And Let Windows Automatically install the driver for same.

this is wat it looks like only 1 with no ports and no local area connection network only the wireless connection network click on attachment

Do you have the installation disk or some CD/DVD that might have come with your Dell computer? If so then, put it in your cd/dvd drive and search for the ethernet driver onto it. After you find it, just click to install the drivers for your lan card and once the driver is installed you will have to just double click on the network icon to start the Local Area Connection. If you are confused then ask your service provider to help install all this little things.
