Here's your answer is simple: You need a Blu-ray for the high resolution audio and supreme! But to truly understand the reasons behind full possession of a Blu-ray, you have much more basic understanding of high resolution, 1080p TVs and high definition. you've probably heard of interlaced and progressive scan, which are two methods of how these lines are shown. Interlaced scan displays all the odd number lines first, followed by all even number lines. Whereas a progressive scan displays all lines sequentially from top to bottom. Remember, progressive scan is the best method because it produces a smoother video with a clearer picture, especially with fast moving scenes.
