How to disable an email account in Thunderbird

I am using Thunderbird from last few months and I had no problems before this one , I am using Thunderbird to store all mine yahoo messages but now i have to migrate with the gmail and I want to disable the yahoo account, I tried a lot to do so failed every time i did so, Can anyone help me to upgrade it.

It seems like you are not aware with the network settings, It is easy to change the yahoo to gmail mail storage, To do this what you have to is just go to the tools option of Thunderbird and change the "EMAIL ADDRESS" as per you require , Then the default account of your Thunderbird will be gmail or whatever you want.

I have gone through your problem and i guess that is not that so difficult to fix it up , Me too was facing the same problem a few days before and now i followed some steps that can fix so i suggest you to the same . Here are the steps that you need to follow to disable the older account and create the new one, just go to Tools and in that you will find Account Settings just click on it then you will see the Server Settings tab in that you just unselect the yahoo as the email account and enter the gmail ad your default one than all the emails will be get stored in the Thunderbird.

Hey i guess that you are now not able to access the new one due to the old account to update the Thunderbird to the Gmail from yahoo them you just need to follow the following steps:

• Just go to Thunderbird and click on Inbox A
• The email list must not be sorted in the proper order do sort it first.
• To sort click on the sort order just go to
• view
• Sort by
• grouped
• To set it to default as gmail just go to the tools option and then to the Email address option and change the default Email address to gmail.
