    Mic/Volume Problem

For some reason, my volume system requires that I have "FrontMic" checked in the volume input controls so that my mic can work properly, but certain actions, such as the act of logging into MSN Messenger or connecting onto a Ventrilo server deselects the "FrontMic" option and selects "Line Volume", so I have to go back into volume input control and select "FrontMic" again. Can anyone help me solve this problem or give me a different way to make my mic work?

    Sound Driver

First of all check that the mic is properly plugged in. Check the the drivers are updated or not. For that Go to Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices Icon. Click on Audio Tab, and now select your Sound Driver from the list. To apply the settings click on OK. I had a similar problem with Yahoo Messenger Voice chat where my front mic used to get disabled. I then updated the drivers and it worked for me. Hope it also works for you as well.

It says that all my drivers are already fully updated, and going to the Sounds and Audio Devices thing didn't help me out either :/
