You can do this with the help of the Google Chrome. This is possible with the drag and drop method that will give you the shortcut. Lets start this just open a page that you wish to create shortcut of say "www.google.com" now go to the address bar and select the complete URL, Now drag to the desktop and that it. The shortcut is created now you can access the Google page with the shortcut. Thanks

Why you want to add it with the way is described above when you can access it with the way that is old and reliable so just go with the older one and then you can get the shortcut. Just right click on the Web page and save link as option and define the location of it. This will create the shortcut of the Web page. Now to check the shortcut is working or not go to the location and click on it. See that it is working or not.

None of the methods described above will work in Google Chrome. The easiest way is to go to Windows Explorer, open the Desktop folder, click on file, add a new shortcut, enter or paste the URL, save the shortcut, then rename it with a meaningful name.
