    Access IMAP email through firewall

    I always use IMAP access to check my Gmail account from my mobile phone. I recently activated a new plan on my apple i phone but it restricts traffic to http ports. I cannot access my email through that data plan because it uses different port no. Any suggestions?

    IMAP offers two-way communication between your web Gmail and your email client(s). IMAP uses port 143, In order to download your Email, you must have the correct settings configured in your Email client program.

    IMAP creates a constant connection between mail clients (from your i phone) and Gmail. When you use imap it changes the given port address of browser to sufficient port no.
