Before procedding, make sure no other programs are running.

    1. Open Internet Explorer -- click on Tools --- Internet Options. From Internet Options menu, click Program tab.
    2. Click on the link Manage Add Ons. It is located towards the bottom of the box.
    3. Wait for sometime while the list of add ons that is connected to your Internet Explorer loads.
    4. Once the list appears, check the list of add ons. Click on the add-on you want to remove. Check to see if the disable button is highlighted. If you are sure you want to disable this addon and the disable button is highlighted, then click the OK button at the bottom of the page.
    5. Repeat the above step for every add-on you want to remove.
    6. Delete any Addons (leftover) from Add/Remove program system. To do this.
      • Click Start > Control panel > Add/Remove program.
      • Wait for the list of installed programs to load.
      • Click on the program you wish to remove.
      • Follow the directions for removal of each program.

    Important Note -
You can only delete ActiveX controls that you have downloaded and installed. You cannot delete ActiveX controls that were pre-installed or add-ons of any kind, but you can disable them.

To delete an ActiveX control that you have installed, use the Add-on Manager. If the add-on cannot be removed in Add-on Manager, you might be able to uninstall it through Control Panel.

To delete ActiveX controls you have installed in Internet Explorer 8
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
    3. Under Show, click Downloaded controls to display all ActiveX controls.
    4. Click the ActiveX control you want to delete, and then click More information.
    5. In the More Information dialog box, click Remove. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for every control you want to delete. When you are finished, click Close.

To delete ActiveX controls you have installed in Internet Explorer 7
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools button, point to Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.
    3. In the Show list, click Downloaded ActiveX controls to display all ActiveX controls.
    4. Click the ActiveX control you want to disable, and then click Delete.
    5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to disable. When you are finished, click OK.
