How to disable add-ons notification in Firefox

I am using Mozilla Firefox as my internet web browser. I am getting the notification for automatic updates when I start the internet. I used to find it useful for security. But I am keep on getting this repetitively. So I want to disable the notifications for add-ons and automatic updates in my Firefox. How can I turn-off these add-ons notifications in Firefox ?

Can anyone suggest me around this...!!

To disable the notification feature in FireFox :

• Click on Tools >> select Options. The Options dialog box will appear.
• Click Advanced.
• Click Update tab.
• Underneath Automatically check for updates to, uncheck the following :
  • Firefox
  • Installed Extensions and Themes
  • Search Engines
• Click OK and close the dialog box.

The Add-ons and Automatic Updates Notification is a very useful feature in Mozilla Firefox that is configured to automatically check for software updates, both for the main browser and for any extensions you may have installed. This way, if any bug fixes are released or if any new features are added to extensions, you are notified. I would advice you not to disable this feature.

If in case you are disabling it, then I would suggest you to visit the Mozilla webpage periodically at http://www.mozilla.org/ to be aware of the latest updates and add-ons.

Do the following -

- go to about:config
- create a new boolean value as "extensions.newAddons"
- set it to false.
