On 21 May, Chrome went v2 stable. But Google already actively preparing the arrival of v3. The software is being developed and version 3.0.182.3 has been put online on May 28. Beware, this is an issue reserved for developers (Dev channel), at a stage of development before the arrival of the beta version. The software can be subject to numerous shortcomings and enabling some functions may require some manual intervention from the user. It is advisable to wait for the beta for a taste of the future Chrome. It will be available as soon as Google thinks that the software is sufficiently stable and that new functions are fully implemented.
Meanwhile, the U.S. reported on this new v3, mainly improvements to the v2 and bug fixes. Webkit engines and V8 (Javascript) have been updated and the module Gears for working offline with Gmail or Google Docs.
Video without plug-in
Chrome 3 also supports the video tag, included in HTML 5, the future page description language being developed and gradually implemented in browsers. This tag will allow browsers that will support a video display without having to install additional plug-in (as is the case for images). Expected in the coming days, Firefox 3.5 RC should also support this feature.
However, we are still waiting the arrival of the extensions, those small applications that piggyback on the browser and have a great success for Firefox. It is for now just a few examples available online and the U.S. did not give further details on availability, at its conference Google I/O, which was held this week California. However, he conducted a small demonstration of skills in javascript and HTML 5 with a small video showing the timeliness of its browser.
