Yahoo messenger 9.0 smilies doesn't work in Windows XP

I have recently download the Yahoo messenger 9.0 but whenever i try to send the smilies to the other friends but i sees that smilies doesn't work, instead of smilies it shows with an Icon, and therefor cannot able to send smilies,what would be the problem,let me know.

Yahoo messenger 9.0 has not updated fully it has some little bugs in it, that will take some to get fixed, I also can't confirm that the problem you are facing would be one of its bug but I will recommend you that switch over to 8.1 version it has very negligible problems.

I am not facing this problem whenever i use my yahoo messenger 9.0, why don't you uninstalled and reinstall your messenger, this may be because happened because you might be missing one of your file that would be related to smilies. so reinstallation might eliminate your issue.

This problem you get when you talk to all of your friends, or just with then who don't have yahoo messenger 9.0, i am thinking that this problem would be because of higher and lower version of messenger, am not sure this only would be problem but i gave you the possibility to check.
