Now search google within Gmail

Google just rolled out a search auto complete feature for Gmail.On enabling this feature from labs settings, you’ll see a google search box at the left side in GMail, this is different from the search feature already available in Gmail.And when entered a search, query will display the search result as a popup pane within the same window. Now it is clear that Google wants to let people spend more time living within the confines of Gmail.

Offcourse this features increases the centrality of the e-mail service and gives Google a new opportunity to show advertisements.If you are looking for a contact, you can just type a couple letters of the person’s first or last name and the feature will provide a list that matches the search query.This is a convenient, and pretty fast way of sharing search results.

If you can notice on your Sidebar you should be able to realize that the Google Search feature within Gmail keeps a simple history of your most recent searches, so you can get to those result sets without typing the query again.You can insert the search results without copy-pasting by clicking on a drop down arrow that shows up when you hover over a result.

To enable this feature, you need go to Settings, Labs, find Google Search and select the Enable radio button. Once you enabled this feature, you'll get a small edit box on the left to your inbox.If you are browsing your inbox, the arrow tab next to the search results will give you the option to send it by email. What's in the menu depends on what you're doing in Gmail:

1. If you're reading a message, you can start a reply to the message with the search result as the first thing in your reply.
   
   
2. If you're writing a message, you can paste the result, or just the URL into your message.
   
   
3. If you're chatting with someone, you can send the result via chat.
   
   
4. You can also always compose a new message to send the search result.

If you’re chatting with a Gmail contact, you can also paste the search results into the chat window.Enter a search term into it and you get a pop-up box with the top results for your query, along with a pull-down menu that lets you do something with the result, like email it, IM it, or copy the URL.All in all we think it’s a pretty nifty feature - but then it’s about time the search giant improved search in Gmail.

Thats great news in fact for Gmail users. If Google is copying Live Mail, they are doing a better implementation job than Microsoft.
