For IE to work, each time When you restart your computer , go to the Control Panel, then Security Center and make sure the Windows Firewall is ON. Sometimes it will appear to be green (ON), but you need to click on the Windows Firewall link and make sure the radio button is clicked (recommended). After you are sure the Windows Firewall is ON, turn off your antivirus Firewall.

Was AntiVirus AVG and/or Spybot Tea Timer and/or Comodo enabled or running in the background when you installed, uninstalled,
    or reinstalled IE8 ?

A lot of crashes are caused by either malware protection programmes or addons.

Often malware programmes interfere with IE settings in an effort to lock down the browser and implement means to prevent you to surf to risky sites. This often involves abuse of IE settings not meant for such use and as a result of that can cause crashes if IE is upgraded.
For example confirmed problems exist caused by Spybot S&D which puts 60000 domain in IE8 restricted sites and locks down several IE features settings using group policy settings.

    Re: IE8 won't load properly

Verify if your malware protection software is up to date and the vendor has tested compatible with IE8 and update your software if needed and/or possibly disable features that interfere with IE8 operation.

Addons are the most common cause of crashes for IE8. Often they are old/not timely updated software that might not be compatible with newer versions of IE which might be stricter on security and inforcing protection and memory control.

    Solution: Start IE8 without extensions/addon
    RUN IEXPLORE.EXE -EXTOFF
If this solves the crashes use the addon manager in IE8 to disable possible culprits one by one.

It seems to be some issue with settins of the internet explorer , so to resolve this issue , open the internet explorer , go to the Tools > internet explorer > Advance and that click on the reset button .

IE8 is a garden of problems.

Some users are tired of it hanging up every now and the, for some its not starting at all and the rest are irritated with its security warnings!
